The Liverpool head coach acknowledged that it's expected for doubts to be asked about his future after another convincing defeat against PSV Eindhoven.

The Reds endured their 9th defeat in twelve matches, representing the team's poorest run since being demoted in 1953-54.

They were taken apart by the Eredivisie champions on a difficult evening at Anfield.

“I'm confident, I am OK, I've received plenty of support from management,” Slot remarked.

“It's important to change things and earn three points naturally but if you are working as a coach and not doing well then it's expected that people question you.”

He noted, “I accept my position. It is not the first time I've found myself in a challenging situation but it's crucial that we turned it around.”

Discussions with Club Management

When asked to expand on his conversations with the club's leadership, the head coach said:

“There's regular dialogue. They are helpful to the team and to me and those talks happen but they don’t call me constantly each day to say they have faith in me.”

He mentioned, “In the normal exchanges I perceive the belief. However I haven’t spoken to them since this match so far so it remains to be seen.”

Recurring Issues and Squad Response

Slot highlighted familiar failings from his team in their European loss, namely poor finishing and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, player Jones was blunter in his evaluation of the club’s predicament.

“I haven't got the answers. Truthfully, I do not. I’m saying that to everybody,” Jones remarked.

“It’s just unacceptable. I don't need to wait to think about it. I’m past getting mad inside. I’m at the point currently where I simply lack the vocabulary.”

He went on, “It's difficult because I’m playing for the team I support. I’m a fan, and I've watched this club for years.”

“In recent memory, I haven’t experienced a Reds side going through a phase of this nature with outcomes so bad.”

Jones stated, “But we continue to wear the emblem on our shirts. And until it is taken away, we will always compete.”

“Our aim is to bring this squad return to where it needs to be, demonstrate to all again what this club is about and why people call it the best team in the world.”

“However currently, things are bad and it needs to change.”
