A tragic detonation at a security post in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir has caused the fatalities of nine persons and injuries to thirty-two others, according to official statements.
The event happened when a cache of seized explosive materials unintentionally detonated during processing activities.

The blast took place on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam security post, where detonation agents confiscated in Faridabad region in the northern state of Haryana state were being held provisionally.
Area law enforcement head stated that the blast materials were pending forensic examination when a "very unfortunate" incident during processing caused their blast at approximately 23:20 local time.

Police authorities asserted that this was an "inadvertent blast" and not a militant action. "Different conjectures regarding the cause of this incident is unnecessary," stressed the law enforcement head during a press briefing.

Multiple vehicles were "covered in blaze and transformed into ashen remains, with fragments distributed across the site," according to police accounts.
"The power of the blast was such that some body parts were retrieved from nearby houses, approximately 100-200 meters distant the law enforcement facility," stated an authority informant.
Most of the casualties were law enforcement personnel, along with technical investigation team, two investigative imaging experts, and a tailor who was present with the personnel.
