Miami Heat and Trail Blazers Claim First Victories After Recent Arrests
Miami put up eighty-six opening half points versus the Memphis Grizzlies
The Heat secured a crushing 146-114 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies in their initial NBA game after guard Rozier was arrested for alleged unlawful gambling.
Portland Trail Blazers coach Billups was also detained as part of a broad federal probe into illegal gambling. The two individuals contest the claims.
However, the Miami team were not distracted as they recorded 86 opening half scores to lead the Grizzlies by thirty-nine at halftime, the biggest half-time advantage in the team's 37-year existence.

"We all had positive times with Chauncey and his coaching style," Tiago remarked. "Our thoughts are with him and his loved ones but our focus is on the game."
League Commissioner Silver 'Disturbed' over Recent Events
Addressing the arrests for the first time, league head Adam Silver stated he was "very upset" by the events of the recent days.
"There's nothing more important to the NBA and supporters than the integrity of the competition," he told Amazon Prime. "And so I had a pit in my stomach. It was disturbing."
Silver further mentioned an league probe into the player's conduct in March 2023, when there was "unusual wagering" in a match he played for the Hornets against the Pelicans, found nothing untoward.
"It was brought to our attention by the regulators and the gambling firms," he continued.
"We investigated that situation and were open regarding it. Although there was the unusual wagering, we, honestly, couldn't find anything.
"Federal authorities has legal authority... [it] can impose penalties, can take various actions that the NBA can't do.
"Therefore, we've been working with them from that point. Naturally, what they revealed yesterday was an charge.
"Moreover two and a half years later, he has not been found guilty of any offense, in fairness to Terry.
"Clearly, it appears unfavorable, but he's been put on administrative leave, and so it is a balance in this case between protecting people's rights and conducting an inquiry."
