The president stated he’s proposed a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president addressed the press. “And in the same way with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”
Community Reaction
Community members gathered over the weekend at a local school in the state to remember Sarah.
Both they had been working with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to aid policing efforts in the capital.
Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom
“She was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always eager to assist people.”
Service arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.
Legal Actions and Government Changes
Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and charges of attempted murder while armed.
The tragedy prompted the administration to halt refugee claims and cease issuing visas to possessors of Afghan passports.
Condition of Andrew Wolfe
Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the Associated Press.

Legacy of Beckstrom
Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with excellence, according to the state guard.
“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
