During a discussion, she shared, “During the first Trump administration, I believed I was acting frantically without clear direction. But it’s become clear, through repeated campaigns, Hollywood stars do not make a difference at all on voter decisions.”

Lawrence added, “So then what am I doing? I’m just voicing my thoughts on something that’s going to worsen tensions that’s ripping the nation apart.”

The actress has spoken candidly about backing right and leftwing presidential nominees throughout her life. Growing up with a right-leaning family in Kentucky, she supported John McCain in 2008 before joining the Democratic party and explaining she recognized during Obama’s administration that voting Republican was opposing her personal freedoms as a female citizen.

Earlier in her career, she remarked that Trump winning the presidency might signal “a catastrophic event” and endorsed Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
