The children's author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

He has published in excess of 40 works combined, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
