Two Charged In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
