Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital follows the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
